The 2024 Kontu Shark Calling Festival wrapped up in the New Ireland Province of Papua New Guinea last week, with 20 shark callers heading out to sea. After about two hours, the conch shell sounded, signalling a shark was heard. It was captured by 45-year-old Victor Conrad of Kontu Village and measured about two metres long.
